All pupils are expected to attend Brine Leas in school uniform. We regard this as an important element in developing our students' pride in their appearance and in their school. Uniform must be worn correctly inside the building.
Girl's skirts must be a sensible length and both boys and girls must be tidy and smart.
In the interest of safety, students travelling in the dark are advised to wear fluorescent armbands or sashes and all cyclists must wear a safety helmet.
Brine Leas High School does not allow pupils to wear any form of jewellery except one plain stud earring in each ear and a watch. Other forms of body jewellery e.g. nose or eyebrow studs are not permitted.
Extreme hairstyles (for example colour (including two-tone), length or style) are not permitted; a discreet amount of makeup may be worn in Years 10 and 11. The wearing of clear nail varnish is acceptable but bright coloured varnish is not appropriate.
We encourage pride in appearance and expect our students to be credit to their school and to their family.
